Secularism is an idea to keep the
government and religion separate. This was to prevent either few religious
ideas dominating the governance or abusing it against others. It originated in
Europe as few dominant catholic entities like Vatican controlled the states. To
enable the other denominations to be safely practiced the idea of secularism
was invented. Also with the advent of science, a lot of Church’s absurd ideas
got exposed with time. Decoupling also gave a better environment to address the
needs of science in a neutral way. Secularism ensured that the state will not
have its own religion as official. Contrast this with the Islamic countries,
where polity exists as an extension of religion. Many Christian dominated
countries like Germany claim to be secular while masking their deep religious
roots and influence. Though governance and constitution of United States give
lots of religious freedom, with the current demographics, a non-Abrahamic idea
is hardly going to be the point of discussion.
In India, Secularism as sanctioned
by the Constitution has been hijacked to serve not only selfish interests, but
also target it against the Hindu majority. Counter to the spirit of the
Constitution and weird ways we find it wrecking the real spirit, secularism has
morphed into sickularism in India.
Henceforth, we will use the term Sickularism for its current Indian morphology
and study a few layers of its existence.
Constantly
being shamed by the media, pressures of modernism and consumerism, the Indian
masses have been told that the current society ills are the burden of the past.
Being a Hindu majority by demography, these players have sought to ignore the
millennium of terrible invaders, colonizers, plunderers. Fault lines exist in every society. Western Indology’s myopic distorted prism has been bought lock,
stock, and barrel by Indian educators, mythologists, sepoys, politicians and
even worse Indian original thinkers, who now think with a twist. With a broad
brush they have reduced all the problems of the society into Manu Smriti and
Vedas. Not even one Vedic Sloka exists
to support the current idea of casteism, but it doesn’t hamper the liars. Not
even one critic has looked into the ill-portrayed Manu Smriti which has so many
timeless treasures. Worser yet, they have taken such ridiculous, absurd
arguments and applied it to the vast treasure trove of Dharmic scriptures. With
the power of translation latitude, these twisted scholars have cast a deep net
thanks to the absolute lack of counter narrative.
What no pseudo historian or self
appointed twisted Indologist is not ready to venture is the almost uniform
standard of living in the Saravasti Valley civilization, without a trace of war
or weapon or the wondrous travel accounts of foreigners for millennia from
diverse cultures who showcase the amazing peace and prosperity of the Indic
civilized areas. They are extremely silent about the lack of ideas like oppression,
rebellion or mass unrest in our literature citing a lame idea that victors
dictated the literature. Lack of intellectual honesty of scholars has been a
perfect base which politicians and Breaking India forces have leveraged to the
hilt.
At home: The focus on Dharma, the real quintessence of our civilization, has been slowly,
yet systematically under assault.
Nowhere is this worst affected than our home. This is the place
our Indian society has been afflicted the most and this is the only hope for us
to recover. We have discarded shastras, dharma and time tested
practices that brought peace and prosperity to chase the simple currency. We
have totally misunderstood Sri and
fell for the effects of Maya. If we
were rooted in Sri, it implies that
we will be rooted in Dharma, as the
one who wears Sri – Srinivas will also be there. We have let
go of the eternal Sanatana Dharma and
settled for trinkets of Maya. This
truth can be applied for other Indian Darshana
terminology as well.
Even a hundred years ago, reading Ramayana, Mahabharata and other
scriptures have been part of the daily Indian life. The constant erosion of values has led to its
inversion as we noted in an earlier article.
Mahatma Gandhi has written that watching Harischandra
drama drove the message of Speaking Truth – Satyam
vada, deep in his heart, which provided the base for his Ahimsa movement. Today’s child wonders
not only who Harischandra is, but
more astonishingly why go through so many hoops to maintain Satya. The inability of the today’s
society to see that Universe runs itself on Satya
is at the crux of this bad example.
The rich diversity in our deep
thinking, without dharma, gives rise
to deep corruption – not just in society, but also perverted ideas. Neither
parents nor grandparents seem to have any connection to shastras. Even the knowledge of itihasas
is from the perverted TV versions, mostly peddled by non practitioners, who deliberately
twist it or reduce it to a level of junk soap.
What can we do?
At School: This front is severely weakened by
the destruction of the entire traditional ecosystem. Worse yet, the numerous Abrahamic influenced
schools that dominate the market, besides strongly hinduphobic ideas circulated
over incorrect facts and a syllabus and school system kept
favorable for conversion are at the core of this rapidly degenerating front.
What can we do?
- Parents must take serious interest in what kids are reading, Influence the ministries involved in setting up right syllabus.
- Supplement children’s school reading with more of information about the roots.
- Do not use your ignorance or lack of knowledge as an excuse.
- Have conversations with your children about our civilizational past, present and future.
- Make your regular reading of scriptures an example for the children to emulate.
- Learn Sanskrit, Tamil and other mother tongue (but read ancient texts)
- Promote Hinduism and not secularism. When schools curb only Hinduism expression, do not ignore this violation.
- Commit to learning the real meaning of our itihasas, shastras by reading originals with authentic traditional translations. Refrain from half baked non-practitioner's spurious interpretations.
In
politics: As we
have swerved far away from dharma, the natural replacement is selfishness,
driven by ego-centric ideas. As politicians, battle for the slice of the
votebank opinion, Indian parties have mostly chosen the policy of splitting and
dicing the society and keep them as pitted against one another. Instead of
unifying the society for greater benefit and fight on issues, the basal
strategy to keep the waters deliberately muddled enables them to fish in these
waters. For decades, many parties have deliberately kept a minority appeasement
to exploit the silent Hindu majority.
To make it worse, they use the deliberately distorted ideas of
caste to deepen the chasms in the society. During the independence struggle,
many reform efforts to cleanse the degraded varnashrama ideas included reviving
the respect for the downtrodden as Harijan. But the perverse selfish interested
politician of today has taken the message in the wrong direction by terming
them as SC/ST and alienating them even further as Dalit. This enables not only
extreme political exploitation as votebanks, but also lays a strong foundation
for their conversion. With the rotten idea of caste based reservation, instead
of socio-economic individual needs, the dirty Indian politician has wedged
deeply to exploit the selfishness of the voter base.
Today’s desperate dimwitted selfish
politician is so arrogant that they cultivate support of fringe elements that
openly sloganeer and support breaking India. At no point in human history has
more stupidity be so crassly displayed.
We have so many leftist/religion
based communal organizations openly endorsing violence. Selfish parties, for
their electoral arithmetic, are desperate to include extreme radical fringes.
What is worse is the new mass phenomenon of selling votes for food or alcohol
or petty trinkets. This has brought Indian democracy to its knees.
The cancer has gone real worse with
certain parties ready to break states for a chance to rule, even ready to
break sections of Hindu society and declare them as a separate religious
entity, despite no philosophical basis. The sole idea of certain political
entities is to break Indian society not just to smaller, fragmented votebanks
but also to enable their conversion to some bigoted Abrahamic idea. If
challenged, the average Hindu gets openly tagged as communal or intolerant,
while the same shady outfits encourage barbaric practices of Islam’s Triple
Talaq or Nikah Mutah to pander to the radical ideologies’ votebank options.
What can we do?
- Understanding the importance of raja dharma is vital for the prosperity of the society and also for secularism to exist.
- Ensure the sanctity of democracy by properly choosing candidates and parties that respect it.
- Do not vote for the glamor or clout but on the actions and manifesto of the individual.
- When polity is bent on cashing the divisiveness instead of unifying the society, reject it mercilessly. When polity is reducing your vote to trade for cheap freebies or selfish or narrow minded ideas, reject it strongly.
- Embrace an all inclusive idea based on compassion. If polarization occurs for a narrow vision, reject it strongly, but if it happens because of standing up for a right cause, ignore the other side.
Influencers: Today we have
mythologists like Devdutt Pattanaik who manufacture misinterpretations on the
fly as scholarly insights with a mass consumption. We have Western Indologists
like Sheldon Pollock who is funded by donors like Narayana Murthy to peddle
twisted one sided ideas as the only correct scholarship. We have people like
Wendy Doniger who brings defunct Freudism with extreme ferocity to find cheap
place to influence. We have strongly hinduphobic, lie peddling characters like
Audrey Truschke who use India as a market to profit by injecting lies from
pedestal.
Not to be
outdone, several left oriented historians, the gatekeeper cabal that prevent
alternative or even real narratives to get published, dominate the Indian
history narrative. The Irfan Habibs, Romila Thapars of the cabal not only
continuously peddle one sided idea, but also have the strong media and powerful
backing to shame any challenge to their lies and paint it as communal.
For instance, many historians
themselves know that Ashoka, though portrayed as a benevolent person after
Kalinga war, was in fact more despotic than made to believe. Deliberately they mask
this idea which is incongruent with the Srilankan Mahavamsa account to present
a peace apostle. Historians instead of settling inaccuracies surrounding the
timeline of Buddha or Adishankara which are crucial to the traditional
accounts, merely peddle an unsubstantiated repeated claim to make it sound
real.
These lies and liars must be
challenged and historical facts presented unbiased, which interestingly may be
exactly opposite to the currently peddled ideas.
What can we do?
- Challenge the historical accounts, however dogmatic they are. Have a strong quest for truth.
- Stay away from non practitioner’s accounts of itihasas, shastras or Indian wisdom. Note there are non Indian true Practitioners and many phoney Indian practitioners who peddle twisted ideas.
- Don’t let inferiority complex, hero worship or apathy be the reasons why bad influencers prosper at the cost of harming the society. Challenge them vehemently and scientifically.
Media : Every
religious, spiritual, cultural practice of Hindus has been dubbed as
Superstitious. These practices started under the colonial rule for both
converting easily and retain a strong political grip. Unfortunately, this has
worsened after independence. The left leaning media is exemplified in the irony
where one media outlet retains its historical name – The Hindu, yet behaves
completely Hinduphobic. The media which selectively highlights only select
cases of abuses, in many cases twists or amplifies it deliberately or at times
masks the most critical parts to maintain a hinduphobic narrative.
Media outlets
like NDTV that deploy cheap anchors who are openly hinduphobic accusing them of
being superstitious, will not have the guts to challenge how a virgin conceived
or was it an affair or if the pedophile founder of a cult really flew on a
horse, but will challenge the science in Hinduism.
What can we do?
- To fight this most corrupt entity, one must need strong countering mechanisms. Being not afraid to expose the lies without relying only on emotions is key.
- When entities can be openly hinduphobic, yet carry legacy name of “The Hindu” do not hesitate to challenge.
- More serious counters to wrong information/misinformation via multiple channels is crucial.
- Note that even social media is orchestrated by few behind the scenes. Knowing the truth can be liberating.
Religious institutions:
Today we have institutions like RK Mission and many others pandering to
only Hindu majority base, yet infusing stead dose of sickularism. Most of these
acharyas and many New Age Gurus like Jaggi Vasudev are keen to infuse their
twisted ideas of sickularism only to its Hindu base by making claims that Yoga
has nothing Hindu etc. Yet the same
gurus shamelessly fail in making even one Abrahamic even accept that there can
be more than one pathway to the Ultimate. Why is the desperation to
sickularize only the ones who have believed ekam sat viparaha bahuda vadanti
for several millennia?
These money making institutions that want to
cash in on by trivializing spirituality. Many keen to open business by
expanding with their line of clothes, boutiques, books, media and much more.
Many of them desperately introduce Abrahamic ideas, lines and messages to a
purely Hindu crowd. Many twist even spiritual messages beyond their capacity
like Bhagavad Gita and peddle it with a sickular slant.
Apart from these Ravana like fake Gurus who
are bent are kidnapping Sita like Spiritual legacy, there is a new breed of
openly deceptive cross dressers like fake name Christian swamis who cheat the
masses with saffron, even wear many hindu like insignia, purely to cheat and
convert. Know these maggots that are
devoid of any spirituality.
What can we do?
- Stay away from Gurus or institutions that preach a sick political idea of secularism as their message.
- Do not blindly follow any Guru. Even Swami Vivekananda thoroughly cross examined Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. All Upanishadic teachers were questioned.
- Unless one does personal Sadhana, there is no hope. Foolish crowd imagines that Guru will take over all our karma. That happens only in Abrahamism and they believe that time of the Guru was in the past.
- Expose charlatan gurus and their messages, despite their following.
Any Hindu Guru teaching Father in Heaven or
Jesus is inside you waiting to hatch or all religions are same is a through
cheat. Usually they take cover as New Age or
Mystic, but their aim is to only weaken the spiritual strength of the society
for a future conversion. Beware.
REJECT SICKULARSIM that presents to us in
various shades and flavors. Unless one is engaged in the quest to know one’s
own SELF through enquiry, satsang,
scriptures and a strong desire to protect this wondrous ecosystem for posterity,
our actions will always be inadequate. SEEK REFUGE in the ONE SUPREME SELF,
though we can reach it via different methods, no one can comprehend this Sat-Chit-Ananda.
